Unicorn & Rainbow Cupcake Toppers Tutorial

A little while ago I created a tutorial showing you how to make unicorn themed cakesicles, and I am still really loving the unicorn theme. So for this weeks video I wanted to create some cupcakes that would be perfect for a unicorn theme party, so I created two different designs. The first is a unicorns head, with the horn coming off at the side and a pretty pastel mane running along the edge of the cupcake topper. The second is a pastel rainbow cupcake which I think looks perfect next to the unicorns.

I love how these turned out, and I have created a step by step video tutorial showing exactly how I made each of the toppers. One of the things I love is the swirl background discs the designs are sitting on. These were created by using an embossing matt which is usually found in the paper section of craft stores. These are the perfect size for cupcakes and come in such a vast range of designs. I finished off the discs with a dusting of pearl lustre dust to make them shimmer below the unicorn and rainbow.

For the unicorns head I created a template which I could use to cutout my icing / fondant. My cupcakes measured 6.5cm in diameter, so you can alter the template if your cupcakes are a slightly different size.

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE EXACT TEMPLATE THAT I USED HERE

These cupcakes would be perfect if you are planning a unicorn inspired party or celebration and can be made in any colours to match your theme. I really hope you enjoy this video tutorial and find it helpful if you are looking to make your own cupcakes.
