With less than 2 weeks until Christmas this weeks Free Video tutorial shows you how to make a simple Christmas wreath on the front of your cake. Seeing everyone’s houses decorated for Christmas what is more Christmasy than a Wreath. This wreath is made up of holly, mistletoe, a pretty Christmas bow and some pine cones, so make sure you scroll down to see the full video tutorial…

For this cake I used a 6inch round cake which measures around 5 inches in height. For the main colours of the cake I used the pre-coloured ruby and emerald fondant by Renshaw. This gave such a Christmasy coloured cake as a base for the wreath. For the wreath I added the words ‘Joy’ using the new Candy letter set by Sweetstamp. This font was just perfect for this time of year and I love how it looked in the center. Remember you don’t have to use the same wording as me, you can change this to say whatever you want.

I really love how simple this design is. Don’t get me wrong it can be a little fiddly, especially with the little pieces of holly but it gave such a great effect and focal point for the cake. I have to admit I think my favourite part of this cake is the mini pine cones. You can get moulds to make small pine cones to make it quicker and easier, but with just a few tools it was great to see these come to life from a small piece of fondant.
I really hope you like the cake and will enjoy watching how I made it. Below you will find the full video tutorial. I really hope you find it helpful if you’re still looking for some Christmas cake ideas.
