Do you have no time to upload to Instagram?
If you run your own business or want to share your creations, Instagram is a great tool for building your audience and reaching new people. But I know from personal experience that building your social following can take time and even when it’s growing you still need to be continually uploading in order for the platform’s algorithm to share your content. I don’t know about you but I just never seem to have the time every day to upload new content.

Now I can’t give you the answer to how the algorithm works (that remains one of life’s mysteries!) but I can let you know about a tool I use for making it easier to upload your content to Instagram which has saved me a lot of time. Do you have time maybe once a week or once a month to bulk create your content, work out what stories to put up and schedule them in advance? I will be the first to admit that I am not the best at this, but one thing I have found that has really helped me upload my content over the last few years is a tool called ‘Later’.
Don’t get me wrong this will still take time, but by working on all your content at once and having it automatically upload when you have it scheduled means you don’t have to stop what you’re doing everyday and find time to upload onto Instagram.
What made me start to use Later
I first started using Later as I had a piece of content that needed to go up on a certain day at a certain time and I was actually going to be away on holiday. Later allowed me to schedule my post in advance and the content was automatically uploaded when I needed it to be and I didn’t even need to be holding my phone. One thing I also loved about Later was that I could not only get it on my phone but also on my computer. I much prefer typing text on my computer than on my phone.
What exactly is Later?
Later helps creators visually plan and schedule content, not only on Instagram, but Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and Pinterest too. So everything is in one place to save you time. You upload your content and drag and drop it into a weekly or monthly calendar. You can add your text and hashtags ready for it to be uploaded. Once scheduled you can then copy that text and paste it into a Facebook or Pinterest post too, so you can use the same content for all of your social platforms without having to upload it separately which is also going to save you time.
One feature that is really useful is that it looks at the analytics of your account and shows you when the best time is for you to post your content so your followers will see it. You can then dive further into the analytics to see what’s been working and what hasn’t to help you generate better content in the coming weeks. So maybe you only have time later in the afternoons to post, but if your audience is online in the morning this could really help you reach your audience better. Also, the more interaction you get on a post just after it is uploaded, the more chance that Instagram will expand the post’s reach and show it to more people as it sees it as content people are enjoying.

Take the stress out of uploading to Instagram
I really do love social platforms and the way they help you interact with like minded people from all over the world but they can be extremely stressful and make you feel like you have to constantly be uploading and sharing, and for me Later has really taken some of that stress away. If I have pre-planned content scheduled on Later, it allows me to just use Instagram throughout the week to see new posts from people I follow, and get inspiration for new ideas, rather than worrying about my upload schedule.
One piece of advice I would give is content can take so long to create, so when thinking of what to upload don’t be afraid to use a piece of content you have used in the past. For me I love to share cake tutorials I have created before. I may have already used the piece of content, but not everyone might have seen it. You also might have gained new followers since you last posted it, so there is no harm in posting it again or posting a variation of it. Just keep the description updated, and relevant to what is happening now. This is really going to take the pressure off of having to create new content for every post as it can also take so much time that you might not have.
I really hope you will find Later as useful as I have. Please also let me know how are you finding Instagram and other social platforms at the moment. Are you on a growth spurt or do you feel like it’s just down to pot luck? I’d love to hear how you’re finding it, let me know in the comments.
